I just drove 115 miles in 94-degree heat with no air conditioning. Got stuck behind a wreck in Woodburn. Nearly ran out of gas. You better believe I was thirsty by the time I pulled into the West Bothers River Ranch in Eugene and ordered up a beer.
My first beer was the WB Golden Ale, described on the menu as a German Kölsch-style ale. This proved to be a simple yeasty ale of very modest dimensions. It carried a faint yeasty aroma and taste, no head, no lace, and bare minimal carbonation. It was orange-gold color with a vague tinge of yellow. A cloying bitter finish hung heavy on my tongue.
A glass of water would have given me greater satisfaction. This was an easily forgettable beer.
