Served on-tap at Small Batch Beer Co. in Winston-Salem, NC
A: Pours a hazy light to medium golden yellowish orange in color with moderate to significant amounts of active visible carbonation streaming from the bottom of the glass with some faint straw yellow highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense foamy white head that reduces to a medium sized finger thick cap in the center of the glass and a thick film surrounding it with a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of holiday spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove) over light aromas of wheat and banana.
T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of wheat with hints of banana. That is followed by moderate flavors of holiday spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove) which seem to build as the beer warms up.
M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate to heavy amounts of carbonation.
O: I enjoy how they took a traditional hefeweizen and augmented it with holiday spices - it was easy to drink and refreshing while having flavors that went better with the holiday season. Enjoyable in the cold weather.
