Our flagship beer is a medium-bodied American Red Ale, malty in flavor, with slight chocolate and caramel undertones.

Served on tap at the brewery into a 16 oz (473 ml) conical pint glass.
A: Pours a clear, ruby copper color with a three quarter inch, tan head, modest retention and lacing.
S; Aromas of caramel and cumin.
T: Palate follows the nose. Very spicy with moderate to strong peppery bitterness which sets it apart from most Red Ales.
M: Medium bodied with medium carbonation.
O: Delicious. As good as any Red Ale I have tried. Definitely the agreed upon favorite of the day.

Picked up a 16oz fill of this earlier today at lake ronk. Always like to check out newish stuff that is local. Enjoyed from a snifter.
a - brew is a dark amber and poured with a thin bubbly off white head that bubbled away fairly quickly leaving nothing more than some tiny bubbles clinging to the glass, although dark amber, still transparent when held to the light. Nice ruby highlights.
s - nose is earthy crystallized malt with hints of toasted brown sugar and some powdered chocolate. Smells quite nice.
t/m - taste is earthy and light on flavor while the body is fairly full for the style with light prickly carb. The scents in the nose seem a bit watered down on the flavor and nothing really shines through as advertised in the nose. There is a surprising boozy tingle to the mouth at first that I got used to fairly quickly. Mostly bready malt flavors on the palate. Even as I drank through my16oz and the brew warmed and flavors became more pronounced, it was still lacking some pizazz to make it memorable.
o - overall, a bit of a let down. I really enjoy a good amber and the nose was really promising on this beer but the flavors just aren't there. Only slight hints of brown sugar but washed over with just breadiness and hints of toasted crystallized malt. I wish I could crank up the flavors on this one as I think there is good promise here, but if I was to go with a local amber, I would have to take barrage's fairy tale red...to me, that is the benchmark on an amber locally and even beyond. For a style like this, you really have to kill it or why bother since most beer geeks I know don't favor this style in general. Very average. Not sure how old this batch is but I know it was put up at lake ronk not too long ago. I have heard a lot of good things about this brewery so I will probably give this one another shot down the road, but glad I only got a 16oz pour of this one today.
