good name, cool hop, light hazy, almost hits more like a pale ale, real light in color, fully hazy but still bright in the glass, pale yellow with a dense and lasting cream white head, this is was less intensely starchy and full bodied than is fashionable in this space right now, and i dont mind at all! im liking the ripe peach and nectarine notes right away, some spiciness to me in the nose too, but its not overly intense, is balanced well by the earthy malt in this, and even has a raw note about it. i get a wrinkle of honey but its dry overall in the flavor, and the hops range from dried apricot and mango up front to dried lawn and herbal at the end, but tangerine and peach drive it for me, ever so slightly green, with laid back bitterness and a real fast finish for the style, clean ferment for one of these, on the edge of refreshing when good and cold, but quite a bit more expressive after it sits a bit. the stone fruit hop profile is great, but its not all juice which is cool too. i dont know as much about palisade hops as id like to, its modern but also in some ways kind of noble to me in this. seems well suited to a hazy, especially a light and easygoing one like this, but i could also see it working well in a contemporary lager type, italian pils or something. enjoyed this one a lot, good to have something new to me from hop valley, this stands out from the crowd.

Pours out of the can a slightly cloudy goldenrod with a finger of head with moderate retention. Smells a little sweet like tropical fruit but also some citrus. Tastes initially on the hoppy side but then quickly mellows to a tropical fruit tone. Slightly thin mouthfeel however.
