In this remix of a classic, we've sampled the hop profile of Alphadelic IPA but added a smooth Cryo Hops spin. Flaked oats and a new malt bill make this IPA a contemporary hit that had to be called Stashadelica! Now dance!

This is one of those rare situations where the revamped recipe is better than the original. The original was a bit malty, woody and just straight bittering hops it seemed. This tamps down those pesky issues a little bit resulting in an improvement overall.
Pours a honey like color. Lighter viscosity than honey though. Good 1/2" white head, good retention. Aroma didn't improve too much, still seems like exclusively bittering hops going on. And you know, the ones of the high alpha acid hops I'm thinking.
The mouthfeel seems to be the most significant improvement. The heavy malty, bitter, woody presence is minimized here via a slight hazy flaked wheat oats combo. I'm guessing they do some Cryo C hop Simcoe kind of combination here. Still mostly pine, but not as harsh I guess, just the needles, not all that heavy tree trunk and bark thing the predecessor had going for it. These are usually pretty affordable and widely distributed so its a decent grocery store pickup.

Stashadelica pours an amber color with a nice-sized, long-lasting, and lacing head. The aroma is a little earthy but has a sweetness. The flavor is a little sweeter for an IPA, with a hint of earth and vegetation. Good feel. Overall, its a little sweeter, a little funky. A slightly different-tasting IPA.

This is a pretty smooth drinking IPA. No real bite from the hops but a nice citrus flavor from the hops and a solid malt backbone.

From a 12oz can:
Appearance: Yellow-gold, lots of particles in suspension, good head.
Smell: Melon, green fruit, rind.
Taste: Mild sweetness, kind of slick feeling. Melon fruitiness comes through, with a little breadiness too? Low bitterness.
Overall: Picked up a mixed 4 pack of Hop Valley because it was cheap. This was a pretty interesting little IPA, good melon flavor that I haven't experienced much in other beers. Worth a try.

Pours out of the can a crystal clear orange-gold with a big head and good retention. Smells a bit citrusy but also a little a little like a tropical fruit like a mango maybe but very light. Tastes fairly light as well but nice and hoppy. Flavorful IPA for sure.

Pours a pale gold color with a thin white head. Smells of sweet citrus fruits, orange and grape fruit. Mildly bitter sweet flavor, with a tart characteristic. Crisp and clean on the finish.

its sometimes easy to forget that these guys make really solid beer, especially the hoppy stuff, they should not be overlooked, but often thats exactly what i find myself doing. anyway, picked up this new one today and its good and fresh, modern but more unfiltered than hazy, just a shade deeper looking than what is hot right now, deep honey color but well short of amber or even bronze, over an inch of white head in my glass and thick white lacing on the edges too, nice looking brew. the nose is citra forward to me although i dont know what the hops are, some fruitiness here of mandarin orange and pineapple, and the flavor is similar, perhaps a grassy note in the center as it warms up a little, but light on the bitterness, plenty balanced by the malt, even almost sort of a pale ale, but without a ton of body or anything from it. the ferment is clean, there is a berry note to the hops the longer it sits but it still never gets to the level of being real interesting there, but this is well made beer, bright and drinkable, a little alcohol on the back end, but tidy overall. the quality is there, and thats what makes this worthwhile. definitely has that cryo hop early start and pungency too, but nothing is forced. nice recipe and execution, i will happily drink the rest of the six pack this weekend! if this is remake of alphadelic its much better in this form...

12oz can from Albertsons. Pale golden pour, fizzy head. Light, sweet fruity aroma. Taste is malty, sweet, slick, creamy. Not much to this, but it goes down easy.
