wow a 22 oz glass bomber! From Roth's Market in West Salem OR
$4.29
Wow this is an awesome looking beer in my Freiburger mug. Slightly hazed dark orange body and a gorgeous huge rocky/creamy light beige head. A work of art!
Aromas..toasted bread, ripe berries, floral hops and malt extract.
Taste similar..balanced sweet at first..then bitters out near the end. Nice earthy/leafy aspect. Rye bread.
Mouth feel is actually on the weaker side for the style with low body and medium low carbonation..
Nice old style American Strong Ale

Look: Opaque dark red-amber in color with a formidable off-white head that billows up nicely and slowly settles, leaving sticky lacing behind
Aroma: Grapefruit, pine, toffee, rye, fir needles, tangerine, a little Cannabis, and freshly baked bread
Taste: Follows nose well. Conifer and citrus fruit combine and hit hard at first, quickly joined by rye malt and waves of toffee and bread. Hops hold well atop the malty base and go back and forth until the hops grab the reigns again and lead to a nice hop bite on the close
Mouthfeel: Full – almost chewy but not quite, medium-high carbonation, and moderately dry on the finish. ABV is well hidden
Overall: This one is hitting the spot. I love a good imperial red and this was an easy purchase for me for both that reason (the style) and that these folks made one of my favorites when they first hit the scene years ago called Natty Red so I knew it would be good as they have lots of practice and it is. The rye adds a nice touch to the overall malt profile as well and only adds to the allure for me as a sucker for rye beers. Recommended
