Transparent rich brown with a creamy beige head with very good persistence and lacing from the first sip to the last. Aroma is malty. Flavor is nutty with a nice balance of malt sweetness and hop bitterness.

A 25 cl glass at Belmont Station on 4/18/12
In my impression, a very dry brown ale. Look and aroma is much what I'd have expected, dark but with visible light passing through, rich head that stuck around for a decent while, and OK lace. Aroma and flavor had notes of toffee and burnt sugar. But it was the lack of sweetness that surprised me the most.
