Sampled in August 2016 from 22oz bottle in pint glass. No Bottled on date on the bottle.
Appearance: Pitch black, dark color, with a thin dark tan head. The head lasted a little time, and left a little lacing on the glass, but not a lot.
Smell: There are roasted malt aromas, along with some strong coffee and some spice and hops bitterness aromas. Nice combination and balance between the various aromas.
Taste: Full-bodied with nice balance of malts, coffee, and hops. There is a hint of sweetness and caramel flavors that may be due to the malts, but it is balanced with strong coffee flavor, and a little bitterness from hops. Overall it has a good taste. The combination of strong hops and roasted malts give this drink powerful flavors.
Mouthfeel: Full-bodied, but very smooth. Very creamy. Moderate alcohol which matches with the 5.8% on the label.
Overall: Overall, this is a very good oatmeal stout. I will buy it again.
