I am trying this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a six sample flight. It poured a rich dark opaque with off white head that left a nice lace. The scent had subtle malt and roast notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink. There was a very nice sweet malt base with roasty presence. The mouthfeel was smooth in body with good carbonation. Overall it was a good beer.

I will disclaimer this by noting that this is my first beer review.
Beer was on tap, on location. My first impression is that the beer is very dark brown almost to the point of being black The beer has a slight coffee aroma, nothing too overpowering. Flavors were medium-rich chocolate with a lesser amount of coffee and perhaps a little nutty hint. The beer has a medium thickness with a very creamy texture. The beer was great with my BBQ Chicken Melt but I wouldn't want to drink more than a few because of the relatively rich flavor.

Dark brown color with a nice tan head. Coffee and chocolate aromas. Mellow chocolate and coffee flavors, with nice roasted malt background. Fairly light in terms of strength. Very creamy mouthfeel. Not too complex in character, but very smooth and drinkable. A decent beer that is about average for the style.
