Bottle: Poured a clear dark brown color ale with a nice medium size foamy head with OK retention and limited lacing. Aroma of caramelized sugar and light toffee notes with some roasted notes is more powerful then I had expected. Taste is a mix of dominate caramelized malt notes with some toffee with subtle residual sugar notes and some roasted notes are also discernable. Body is light with good carbonation. Good take on a style we rarely see around here.

Looks really nice, deep brown/copper color with a beautiful 2 inches creamy head with good retention and lacing. Smell of caramel, sugar, sweet malts and a subtle hint of dark chocolate. Caramel comes out in the mouth again, dark fruits and sweet malts also. It should be called a Scottish Ale because it's only 4.6%, which I didn't know before drinking it, I saw a 6 so I assumed it was 6.0%. So if it was called a Scottish Ale I may actually have given a better rating because it's got a really good taste but it really feels watered down when it comes down.
