Look: Jet black on the pour with a silky brown head that builds up and slowly settles to a lid, leaving great lacing behind

Aroma: Dark chocolate, roasted barley, coffee, lightly toasted tree nuts, caramel, and some earthy notes

Taste: Starts off with roasted coffee beans and brewed coffee that linger alone for a moment before waves of dark chocolate come crashing in. Caramel and earthiness peek in in the middle and mingle before closing with more coffee and chocolate

Mouthfeel: Full, smooth, medium-high carbonation, and robust on the finish with light dryness evident

Overall: I dig it. I don’t normally think of these folks when I think of stouts but they do such a good job on any and every style I’ve had of theirs that I had to try this and glad I did as it’s tasty. A well-made and delicious bold/robust stout through and through and one worth checking out

16oz can

Pours a finger of brown head into my nitro glass. Retention is above average. Lacing is very nice. Body is pitch black. Looks great.

Nose has a lovely blend of chocolate and roast. Leans towards the sweeter side, but there are some bitter notes to keep it balanced. Smells wonderful.

Flavor has some chocolate, but the roast takes more notice here. Solid flavor, straight forward.

Body is relatively light. Carbonation is medium. Sweetness is lower than expected - it’s slightly dry, with a medium-high bitterness. Good mouthfeel.

Drinkability is generally fine, can be a little abrasive at times.

Overall a nice stout with an assertive backbone.

On tap at the brewery taproom.
Look:opaque, near black body with ruby highlights. body with an excellent off-white head that leaves temporary coatings of lacing on the glass.
Pleasing aroma suggests a generous load of a mix of malts.
Flavor: rich flavor that's very good but not up with the enticing aroma. Negligible burnt elements but plenty of dark roasted grain flavors with hints of coffee and chocolate.

Medium-full, smooth body with near medium carbonation.
