Pineapple Haze

the name says it all here, another fruited hazy beer, but these guys have done hoppy beer better than most in the region in my experience, and its no surprise that this is also delicious. to me, its obvious that real pineapple was used, there is a sweetness but also a light acidity from it in the beer, as well as the essence of the flavor, but its also fermented down pretty close to dry, and as a result there is nice balance and back and forth between the hops and the pineapple, nicely planned and executed there. the hops are nice, but they seems somewhat subtle to me, like they should be more robust in something called an ipa. the citra and nelson combination makes this juicy, fragrant, and modern, with notes of lemongrass and white grape supporting the pineapple, very vibrant and tropical and fresh, sexy even. the beer looks super dense in the glass though, a little unrefined even for the style, although it has fine carbonation and doesnt drink as heavy as it looks. i want a beer like this to push the hops a little further than it does, but i like whats going on in here on the whole, summery and fun, a nice hop combination, and drier than most even with the fruit. a few tweaks away from excellence here, but real tasty as is...
