Look: Clear light yellow with a frothy white head that holds well as a pillow and skirts the rim with lacing
Aroma: Cereal grains, wafts of corn, soda crackers, pilsner malt, and light floral hops
Taste: Grains and corn kick it off and settle in as some cracker-led malt follows and joins in. A light potpourri of flowers comes through when the malt subsides and leads the way through the close
Mouthfeel: Light, clean, medium-high carbonation, and clean and crisp on the finish
Overall: I dig it. This is a well-made and easy drinking take on a Mexican Lager and comes across as just that. A no-nonsense beer for when you want something light or just want “a beer” without much forethought

Draft at CopenRoss. Clear golden, small foamy head. Went in expecting a grainy sweet, corn beer. Nope. Grainy, but bitter. Why they called it a Mexican lager I have no idea.

i love that mexican lager has become a thing in craft, especially this time of year, in the dog days of summer when its over 100 and baking sun and you just need something cold and crisp but not devoid of character. this was amazing when it was ice cold, a little less impressive as it warmed, but overall a very good example of the style with some nuance. perhaps more than just noble hops here, i get the grassy bitterness at the end, but i also get a little orange citrus character maybe from others. i get the lager yeast too which is nice here, crisping and not without flavor, and the golden malt base is light in feel and fermented dry, easy drinking without being watery or bland. some straw and earthy notes though the whole thing, modest bitterness on the finish, crackery and dry, great carbonation, true to style but also a little bit distinctive, and with the high quality the rest of the beers these guys make all display. i had this on tap, but would love to see it in a can, definitely an enjoyable summer ripper and a great start to this weekend! not enough new beers from these guys seem to come through, so i was doubly stoked on this one.
