Look: Nearly clear medium orange and the pour creates an off-white head that quickly settles to a film, leaving good lacing behind
Aroma: Blueberries, pine, sugar-dusted strawberries, Cannabis, mandarins, boysenberries, sweet bready malt, and wafts of sweet onion
Taste: Kicks off with a light citrus note that starts to expand but is stymied by an onslaught of mixed berries that dominate and develop, finally letting orange-led citrus back into play. Cannabis and pine weave in and out throughout and closes with berries, dank, and a bite
Mouthfeel: Full, lightly slick, medium-high carbonation, and decently dry on the finish
Overall: This is good stuff. I’ve always been a fan of these folks, especially their hoppy offerings, and this is no different. A very unique berry/dank/pine profile here that I can see being ‘odd’ for some as it doesn’t taste like many WCIPAs out there but I personally dig it so have been enjoying this particular one and will continue to with the rest of my pack

its very rare for me that these guys blow my mind with a crazy recipe or radical beer, its always something familiar, but its their quality which stands out most of the time, and that is the case again here, quite a conventional west coast ipa, clear but with some grain character, citrusy but with some bitterness, and not overly interesting but technically excellent. this is the first new one i have seen from them in some time, so it was a welcomed sight on tap. deeper than golden in color, more brassy looking, with an average white head and lots of rising bubbles. smells and tastes like grapefruit pith and zest, a hint of honey from the malt, and basically nothing from the yeast, as it should be in this style. some oily density to the mouthfeel, some lingering higher alpha bitterness, but a balanced and approachable feel overall and a pretty safe and drinkable pint of ipa as they go. slightly leafy and herbal as it warms, an orange note too in the citrus profile, and a little dankness. overall a tasty beer and a fine example of the style, even if it fails to really distinguish itself in any special way, its solid just the same.

12oz canned 2/16, poured into a pint shaker. Clear-ish straw gold with chill haze and a small white head with bigger soapy bubble. Piney and floral and earthy aromatics that carries some notes of citrus rind as well, fairly appropriate for a WC-style IPA. Smooth, refreshing, malty, and juicy at times, with some pineapple and a clean, somewhat bitter piney finish. Pretty easy drinking. Not AMAZING but very enjoyable.

Pint at Westside Taphouse in West Salem OR.
$6.00
Pours a clear clean copper colour. Small bubbly off white head.
Aroma of floral and weak pine. Nice enough.
Taste mainlly floral..bit of spruce tip
Medium mouth feel.
It's acceptable IPA. But not Sunriver's best work.
