Waited for an 80 degree day before cracking open this pint can (canned about 50 days ago). Crisp and refreshing as all-get -out. Kudos to Sunriver for branching out and brewing this 5.4 abv Pilsner. Very delicate mouthfeel. Subdued hoppiness.

the explosion of the style is awesome, loving all of them, and all the diversity within it, so many different takes. this one is more middle of the road, kind of tame and what i think is becoming the standard approach, brightly hoppy but not real bitter, a little fuller bodied and with a lovely malt freshness and earthiness, but also very dry as they go, well carbonated from the tap, and an easy drinker overall, a nice sushi beer, but this style is real food versatile, and these guys make all good beer, so surprise this is solid. this is blonde and light looking, more yellow and less golden than many in my experience have been, near clear, frothy white headed and upbeat to me. the hops really define this for me, and its a cool combination i have not seen before in the style, contessa as the highlight and the unique one, which is a neat add, but also mt hood which we see less of these days, nugget, and saphir, a hop forward beer with these varietals is cool, especially one thats also a flavorful lager, pils malt i recognize, european lager yeast crisping it up, aroma and flavor are about the same, hops hit with green and white tea, dried citrus peel, lemongrass, wheatgrass, and clementine juiciness a little bit, really compelling, fresh, and with some late onset bitterness just saying hello. its very well lagered, clean overall, and interesting in the right places. if they go fulltime with this in cans, it will slay im sure, the style is blowing up and this is a good one!
