Look: Dark orange – almost light red in color and opaque with a quick-forming off-white head that is short lived and ends up as a film, leaving nice lacing behind
Aroma: Cara cara orange, crushed fir needles, some lime, wafts of pineapple, ruby-red grapefruit, and fresh-from-the-oven bread
Taste: Kicks off with some subtle orange-led citrus notes that are mild but deep with notes of orange, lime, kumquats, and grapefruit rind before a rush of conifer goodness hits the scene. Fir and pine are present in a resinous and sappy way and fresh cut pineapple shines near the ends as it closes out along with a bite
Mouthfeel: Full, lightly slick, medium-high carbonation, and felt dryness on the finish
Overall: This is tasty stuff. I’ve heard of this fairly new hop but knew nothing about it so I love when brewers put out single-hop beers to showcase what they can bring. To me, this is a citrus/conifer led beer with some nice but subtle pineapple to go along with it. Well-made and delicious and a great way to kick off the evening
