Look: Opaque and bright yellow with orange hints and my pour yields a soft-looking head that gently and quickly settles to a lid, leaving behind a ring of lacing on the glass
Aroma: Guava, pineapple, mandarins, powdered sugar-coated strawberries, light pine, ruby-red grapefruit, mango, passionfruit, some Cannabis, lemon-lime, and bready malt
Taste: A medley of tropical fruit kicks down the door and rushes in, quickly developing depth individually and great synergy as they build up. Pine peeks into the tropical fruit party and signals a transition to more citrus and berry notes, along with some dank that hold down the middle. Bready malt is present but keeps in the backdrop as this DIPA is a hop bomb. Closes out with pineapple, mango, and passionfruit resurfacing in the mix and a delectable hop bite with no detectable ethanol
Mouthfeel: Full, slick, clean, medium-high carbonation, and moderate and felt dryness on the finish
Overall: This is some really delicious stuff. I was kind of nervous about diving into an 8.6% DIPA on this warm day in the high 80’s but glad I took the plunge as it’s a tasty and well-made one indeed. I just read on the can it’s billed as a double version of their Clearview IPA, so it makes sense I liked it as I enjoyed Clearview a lot last year. A nice tropical fruit-forward beer but with some citrus/berry/pine/dank included and one I would recommend and definitely drink/buy again
