Look: Straw yellow and nearly clear with a lively head that quickly settles to a film and leaves nice lacing behind

Aroma: White table grapes, melon, pineapple, dew-laden floral notes, kiwi, light guava, cut grass, and a kiss of peach

Taste: Opens up with a tasty hit of grape, kiwi, and flowers that start to develop as guava and melon follow close behind and mingle. The floral part develops more as Hall’s honeysuckle, sweet box, and burkwood viburnum are all evident and here, the light pineapple and peach notes are also on display. Closes with more white grapes, kiwi, guava, and floral notes

Mouthfeel: Light but full, clean, medium-high carbonation, and clean and crisp on the finish

Overall: This is some tasty stuff. This is a fun, interesting, and very delicious take on a Pilsner that utilizes NZ hops throughout and they shine in this light-bodied style. A unique blend of grape, kiwi, guava, pineapple, melon, and floral notes all come together well but don’t outshine the pilsner base. Another hookup from my dad and definitely one to try if you see it

SUNRIVER BREWERY – Height of Aoraki - pils
It pours a cloudy golden color with a big head and lots of lacing. The smell is green grapes . The flavor of lime , star fruit and a tart green grape skin taste blended with a white wine mix trown in. The flavors are very unusual and would be a delight for those who prize an usual beer taste. This beer is made with New Zealand hops which gives you the ability to try some new hops varieties being Waimea, Motueka and Riwaka with more common Nelson Sauvin added.
