brand new hazy from these guys, highly modern with a whole mess of hops and hop products, super enhanced and intense, shoutout for the image of the burlington clocktower on the can, if you know you know. anyway, very hazy, big to drink for its modest abv, this is a fuller and starchy looking and feeling one, but its needed i think to support this level of hop load, which it almost does, just a touch green and spicy, very lightly overdosed to me, not an all day drinker by any means, relatively intense as they go, but the hop profile is commendable, and really is the draw here. things like cryo, quantum, dynaboost, and lupomax are in this, citra and mosaic and el dorado, but man is the hop world getting interesting, i go back and forth on it all, like at one point pellets were innovation over whole cones, it just seems to be accelerating in so many directions now, flowable post fermentation stuff, non vegetal high intensity stuff for potency and better yield and also maybe shelf life, aromatic boosters, thiol heavy stuff, its all fascinating, this just seems so packed with it all, like more citra than citra, intense and well rounded expression of it in nose and taste, i have often said i dont love citra as a single hop, and not that it is here, but with these products i think it could have new life in that context. there is so much more going on here though, mosaic is popping, nothing catty about it, both pineapple forward but also herbal to me, honeysuckle and the like, springy, new, green just a little. fruit salad melon chunks, green and orange, a little rindy, poorly cut, saturated with the other fruit juices, always the last to be eaten, el dorado likely doing most of that, some peach candy in here too, sweet in different moments, a raw weight to the grain side, high oil on the palate, fine carbonation giving it a needed lift, mango at the end, some pine too, modern for sure, absolutely packed to the gills though, and for me not as refined as their very best, this one is a bit much, good of course, but after drinking though a whole mess of beers from these guys in the same day, this one didnt really rank among my favorites, even on the hoppy side. still, if you arent yet hip to what these innovative hop inputs can do in a beer, have one of these!
