Had on tap at the brewery
Poured that lovely apricot color and topped with a soft, ivory colored head that left light lacing and a pleasing aroma as it dissipated.
Aroma was malty, but only lightly. Cloves, a touch of black pepper and a smidge of banana. Very faint biscuit rounded the nose out.
The flavor followed; biscuit maltyness transitions to clove and pepper (when one writes that it sound terrible, but it somehow works) and the light banana essence finishes off the sip. Very little bitterness, Really tasty Belgian Ale.
The feel was a touch more viscous than I was expecting, but I think it was within the style boundaries. Just in the mood for something crisper I guess.
They did a very nice job on this one, Seek it out if you are in the area.
