From a 16oz can. No date on the can.
Damn dark pouring beer. Almost pitch black, though, when I hold it to the light, faint amber hues shine through. The head is a 2 finger, long lasting tan color. There's some lacing on the glass as the head dissipates.
The nose is really not strong at all. I am not getting much besides a faint malt hint off of it, and I did let it warm up a bit.
Taste - The beer has a nice pleasing nuttiness to it. I am getting a bit of a roasted malt flavor from it. I get a bit of a toast flavor from this beer. A bit of smoked malts.
Smooth body. Pretty standard feeling for a porter.
Tasty and delicious. Fairly easy drinking overall.

Pours stout black with a med brown head which leaves regular lacing.
Aroma is roasted malts, toast, a wee bit of smoke and what seemed to be oatmeal, but that may have been my nose playing tricks on me.
The taste; I have this semi-regularly there and it's most often very good, if not excellent. The toast and malts and dark fruit all mingle and dance on the palate when it's spot on, they rather line up and orderly march down your throat when it's not. So when it's not on, it's still good, just not amazing.
The feel is everything I want in a porter and nothing I don't. At 5.8 ABV it's darn near sessionable and I've certainly spent a few sessions there drinking it.
OA, if you make it there and it's on tap and you *like* porters, give it a shot. It may just be amazing.
