Appearance: Dispensed an near black body with a very scant, light beige head.
Smell: Hefty, hard roast in the nose, touches of coffee and chocolate, dark fruitiness, burnt breadcrusts.
Taste: Begins with a noted blackened roastiness, a wee bit astringent with dark bitterish chocolate, coffee and a dark fruitiness hinting of prune. Splash of cola. Restrained hop character and yielded bitterness, beyond what's already imparted by the hard roastiness. Bitterish taste of a high-percentage cocoa bar on the smooth finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall, a smooth mouthfeel.
Overall: Fairly good.
