500mL bottle from Lucky's (Woodstock, GA). 11.98. Bottled 11/28/16. Served in a Barrel and Barley teku.

Pours a hazy red hued gold with a finger and a half of pale head. Thin patches of froth rest on the surface like a map of some undiscovered lands. The full halo imparts only a few specks of lacing on the way down.

The distinct aroma of tequila barrel leads, followed by blackberries, yeasty esters, oranges and grass. It is a bit different and pretty nice.

Woodsy tequila and blackberries continue their starring roles in the flavor. Oranges, wet hay, currants, vague red wine, earth, mandarins, apple peel, a hint of lime and an occasional dab of booze. A very unique blend, unlike anything I've tried before.

Medium full body with fairly soft carbonation. Finishes with notes of tequila-soaked wood; berries and some irregular wafts of dry hopping.

After a couple years of enjoying many of Cherry Street's draft offerings it was good to finally be able to buy a bottle of their beer at the store. Golden Gremlin is like no other. Very few aspects of the base Belgian strong golden ale remain but the tequila port barrel and blackberries create an interesting and uniquely tasty experience.
