I let this age for two years...kinda glad I did...
The look was beautifully black with a scent that was lightly booze-forward along with notes of cocoa and light roast. This translated to the tongue but with different values - meaning, the booze was warm but not as distinct, the cocoa tasted more like chocolate, and the roast was more pronounced. Mouthfeel was medium-bodied with a light astringent bite on the tongue. Overall, a very good beer - exactly what I was hoping for when I picked it up...

A Tavour Treat. Pours a dark brown color with a minimal head that disappears quickly. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malts. Taste is sweet chocolate and vanilla with a nice alcohol warmth. Smooth and creamy.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a quarter finger dark khaki head that slowly dissipates to a thin cap with solid lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, bourbon, bakers chocolate, raisins and a little toffee. Flavor is dark toasted malt with light char, bourbon, bakers chocolate, woody oak and some coffee in the finish. Medium bodied with silky, moderate creaminess, nice mouth feel. A solid bourbon barreled stout with good malt toastiness and satisfying chocolate and coffee notes. Bourbon is a bit forward and the malt seems just a tad light for the barrel effects, with the bourbon and woodiness dominating the finish. Really nice creamy mouth feel. Slightly unbalanced, but a good bourbony treat.

500ml bottle from Tavour. Dark brown pour, wispy beige head, bubbly ring. Smoky, roasty, sweet aroma. Taste is sweet, chocolatey, followed by roasty notes and eventually, some ABV warmth.
