16 ounce can - $4.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
CANNED ON 04/01/19.
Appearance: Pours a relatively clear, copper-amber body topped off with an inch of receding, off-white foam.
Smell: Grapefruit, tangerine with a nice, spicy piquancy. Lightly toasted bread, grains and a bit of dry caramel. Subtle flourishes of pine, mango.
Taste: Slight breadcrust, biscuit with crisped grains and a modest glaze of crystal sweetness. Citrusy, with grapefruit and tangerine, but also zesty spiciness, a pop of puissant pine and tropical fruit candies. Medium-plus bitterness. The spiciness and pine ramp up and blend with the fruitiness on the relatively crisp finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation with a decent crispness to it.
Overall: A little different, with part of its makeup rooted in IPAs of yesteryear, given a shot of crystal (seems to be rather unwelcome in most current recipes) and a nice, punchy level of IBUs, but also delivers those more contemporary, juicy-minded hop flavors.
