Appearance: Clear pale gold with white fluffy head, good retention. High carbonation.
Aroma: Citrusy and piney aromas.
Flavor: Citrusy hops, sweet malt with hint of caramel. Moderate bitterness.
Mouth feel: medium bodied, semi-dry. Highly carbonated. Moderate length finish.
Overall: I really like the addition of rye to pale ale and amber ale. This one almost works. I had this on draft and it was overly carbonated. I felt full and totally bloated half way through a pint. I swirled the last couple of oz around and it was still highly carbonated. I really hate criticizing a beer because o the hard work I know the brewer put into it. This would be a highly rated beer; but Cherry Street needs to dial back on the carbonation.
