Appearance: Jet black, frothy brown head with good retention. No visible carbonation
Aroma: Roasted malts, cocoa, vanilla & wood.
Flavor: Cocoa, vanilla, roasted malt, brandy, wood. Sweet with mild bitterness. Alcohol is warming.
Mouth-feel: Full bodied, smooth. Lengthy finish.
Overall: For barrel aged Russian Imperial Stout fans, this is a crowd pleasure. Excellent winter warmer. Nice full bodied, smooth mouth-feel. Mounds of complex flavors & aromas. Brandy barrel aging combined with cocoa nibs & vanilla beans give it a unique combination of sweet cocoa and vanilla flavors mixed with brandy and wood barrel flavors. This one was bottled in June 2020. Only 300 bottles. Interested to see how it ages.
