Dark, almost black pour with a short brown sugar head that quickly melted to nothing. No foam cap at all.
As in the name, hints of German chocolate cake. Might be nothing more that the power of suggestion?
Some bitterness the likes of high percent cocoa dark chocolate bars, bordering on acidic.
It's pretty good but will not make my list of favorites.

16 ounce can - $4.75 at Woodstock Beer Market in Woodstock, Georgia.
11/21/22.
Appearance: Pours an inky-looking, black body with an initial flush of dark tan foam. Light lacing.
Smell: Soundly roasty with some sharp, beer-drenched cocoa nibs. Fairly subtle toasted coconut shreds note. Sustained albeit restrained dark fruitiness. Meager alcoholic hint of implied warmth.
Taste: Launches into a rich roastiness with a sharp acidic bite in amidst the arrival of the chocolate taste. Scorched whipped cream with a good, generous glug of vanilla extract with, yes, some slight showing of the toasted coconut. It's got a noted acidity, likely a combined product of the dark malts and the cacao, egged on by the lightly warming alcohol.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation. Whipped-like mouthfeel.
Overall: Pretty decent. It's not nearly as polished as some, but, yeah, it's pretty decent.
