my first from these guys, big thanks to my buddy for hooking it up, been staring at me in the fridge for awhile now, a little intimidating, i dont love this style, didnt want a whole pint can of a gimmick beer, but finally cracked it when there were folks around to share with. this is one of those enormously fruited super thick smoothie almost gunky sours, popularized in this area by shades for the most part. no head at all on this, dense purple pour, sediment all on the edges of the glass after each sip, gloopy and nasty looking, although the color is pretty, viscosity beyond what could be considered visually appealing for beer. the smell is intriguing though, even kind of amazing, like cinnamon toast crunch and blueberries, but like, in the bowl with milk, i swear there is a cereal milk thing to this, the sourness is entirely minimal and inconsequential, no more tart than the tangy blueberries are themselves, good call not making this an acid bomb too, and it seems like the milk sugar does more than just make this sweet, it adds to the cereal vibe. its cool it actually has cereal in it, i definitely get the cinnamon toast crunch thing they were going for, but was there ever a blueberry edition of the cereal? if there was, it was after my time in the sugar cereal game. anyway, the flavor is quite good, warming cinnamon, natural and not too much, an authentic blueberry vibe although its straight puree, and hints of vanilla and cereal grain, sweet but maybe not overly so, and even though i dont taste any malt or hops in this, i can tell the oats really beef up and make creamy the body, which is way too much but still somehow feels right for this. a little gross to drink more than a few sips of, but i reckon its mission accomplished for what they were shooting for, definitely hits the blueberry toast crunch thing perfectly. thick as they come, i taste it too long, and its dead still, but this was still a fun one to share...
