Poured into a pilsener glass (because it is a bock), the appearance was a ruddy dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of off white foamy head that fell off at a decent pace. Messy sliding lace. The aroma had a huge amount of sweet Cacao beans - sweet and roasty edging some light dark breads and earthy hop portions. Some grassiness, subtle wood. Vanilla beans? They’re not a main priority in the nose. The flavor leaned towards the roasty portion of the Cacao bean and roastiness. Some dark bread. Once again, the vanilla took a back seat. Not much of an aftertaste but a semi-sweet to bitter roasty finish. The palate was roughly medium bodied, perhaps just a touch under with a fair sessionable sort of quality about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine. Overall, I like the idea of adding some chocolate malt and vanilla beans to the brewing process, but didn’t see the point of having this served in a snifter or having it rimmed with peppermint and extra Cacao at the brewery. Everything turned out fine as is.

Had on tap, without the chocolate rim because I'm not a monster. Murky medium brown with tan surface lacing and collar. Nose nails the vision: sweet milk chocolate, with accenting vanilla beans, caramel malts, and light dark bread. Taste is more basic: chocolate dusted caramel malts with dark bread and hints of light coffee. Feel is malty but thinner, sweetness mounts but holds together well enough to avert disaster. Good dessert beer that isn't going to be overly heavy

Pours a dark brown color with an off white head. Chocolate and malt sweetness in the nose, smells like a dessert beer. The taste is also very good, it has dark chocolate and coffee, dark fruits and raw black malts on the back end. Alcohol is well masked and this brew is pretty delicious. Dessert beer for sure, but one I can recommend to those with a sweet tooth.
