Pours a foggy copper-amber with two fingers of off-white foam. Head retention is good, leaving behind a dense curtain of lacing. Aroma is clove, banana, black pepper, yeast esters, grapefruit, herbal and medicinal hops. Flavor profile is grapefruit, tangerine, orange, herbal, medicinal, and dank hops with fresh cracked black pepper (light), clove, and yeast esters with a tinge of dark fruit. IPA leads the charge here with lots of hops up front, and then fades and falls into a farmhouse/saison finish. Bready, earthy, caramel malts sweeten up the back end and balance out the hops a touch. Mouth feel is bordering on effervescent, with a fuzzy texture. It has a medium thickness. Overall, an intriguing blend of farmhouse and IPA standard notes. Aroma really drives the farmhouse portion, while the flavor profile puts the IPA first.
Served in a 15.5oz Speigalau tulip from a 12oz can.
