12oz can from Tavour, 3 Deadline variants tasting. Dark brown pour, fizzy head, then thin ring. Roasty aroma with a touch of sweetness. Honey is bit more pronounced in the taste, but just an accent to the Belgian stout base.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown with little light transmission in the glass and a fine, half finger dark khaki head with great retention and nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, plum, bourbon, honey and a hint of cocoa. Flavor is dark, lightly toasted malt, Belgian yeast fruit notes, plum, caramel and a honey with a mild astringency in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. This one tastes a bit more like a true Belgian stout with more fruit character than dark malt. Actually leans towards a Belgian strong dark. Nice plum and dark fruit notes and fine bourbon barrel character. The honey flavor is subdued until the finish were it is fairly clear. There is an odd, light astringency is the finish that is unexpected in a honey beer, but overall the flavor is fine. This series of variants has been a lot of fun. Really looking forward to the Scotch barreled one. I'll be watching for these next year.
