Named after the best Denver neighborhood with the best neighbors. A crisp, clean, quaffable American wheat with a slightly fruity aroma; soft, bready flavors and a smooth finish. Unfiltered, yet crystal clear, this beer drinks like a light pilsner.

a well made, but rather boring beer, my first i think from diebolt. it runs clear from the tap, and odd look for an unfiltered wheat. very pale yellow in color, almost watery looking, with a short white head, soft and lasting. wheat malt is the base here, but it has not much of a smell, and even less flavor. i like what i taste of the yeast, and of the balancing hops, but honestly the grain is too light, too delicate and minimal. i get the idea that its a session beer, but its way under flavored for all day drinking by me. moderate sweetness in the finish and a touch or orchard fruit, maybe pear not yet ripe, and a bakers yeast profile. its all real gentle stuff, even light on carbonation, but its down real easy. i know diebolt is doing some real interesting stuff with styles and barrels and the like, and that this is probably not the best expression of their brewing prowess, but as high as the quality is on it, the recipe is underwhelming. more grain character would fill this out a lot.

edit: had this on tap at sushi hai last night and have to raise a few scores. the quality of this beer is through the roof, and for me its quality trumps the fact that its a little basic in terms of recipe. well carbonates and dry, super fresh on the malt, and flavorful there too. better than it was last time around. nice job refining things over there, i have found a lot of their beer to be improved substantially lately. nice to be able to evolve...
