i thought this was outstanding, but i understand others have disliked it, perhaps the recipe has recently changed. this was loaded with southern hemisphere fruity tropical hops, mosaic and something lemony, maybe even sorachi ace here. herbal and very much alive and bright. they burst through in the nose of this pale blonde beer. the flavor is awesome too, all hops, with little real grain character in taste or feel, allowing the hops to be the star, and they really are. fresh orange juice, cantaloupe, grapefruit, guava, its all there. the finish is only a little bitter, its dry for a second before flashing back all that fruit in mouthwatering fashion. at 7% abv, its tough to drink a ton of this in terms of driving home, but it goes down so easy you find yourself drinking it like its a light beer. impressive from a beer standpoint, tricky for travel. overall i was really impressed with diebolt, and thought this one was one of their very best. honestly one of the better ipas in denver right now.

A unique IPA, for me anyway. This one has a combination of Sorachi Ace and Motueka(?) hops...and another I can't quite remember. The result is different. While the base malt is common the hop profile is basil heavy. Almost peppermint like. It will really catch you off guard if you're expecting a floral or citrusy IPA.
Not a bad beer, but definitely eccentric

They call this a White IPA, so it must have some wheat in the brewing. Quite floral ad aromatic. Quite nicely carbonated with a fine-grained fizzy mouthfeel, but just a swirl of foam after the first pour. Slight haze on the golden brew.
Pale and unobtrusive malt, but it does leave a trail of sweetness. This is plenty bitter to please the die-hard IPA fanatics, but it has a wealth of aromatic flavors that make it all worthwhile. Very resiny as well. This is a quite different take on the well-trodden IPA track. This has a zingy flowery flavor with some warm bready taste that is really quite appealing, though this lends itself to more of a meditative sipping than quaffing.
Long bitter aftertaste like some kind of French apéritif with a nameless bitter herb. Actually it reminds me of the gentian root in the 13th Century Gruit I tried the other day. But more civilized. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at the brewery in northwest Denver.
