Our signature porter and the flagship of our Standard Series. A smooth, highly drinkable interpretation of a classic style. Subtle aroma of light coffee, chocolate and roast with a slightly earthy bitterness and a moderately sweet, creamy flavor that moves to a dry finish.

Had on tap at the brewery.
On arrival 1 finger of fine light khaki head was present. Over a fewinutes it dissipates to a decent ring and thinner covering. Doesn't quite lace. Body is a bit lighter than black being a very dark reddish brown.
Aroma is sweet and roasty making for an almost milk chocolate mocha aroma. Quite sweet but esters balance that malts well for the style.
Flavor follows the aroma but there is a definite hop bitterness that permeates. No flavor hops but the bitterness mingles with the sweetness to bring even more nearly coffee-like flavors. Again there is a solid English ale fruity esters. Solid.
Feel is full and nearly am armchair beer but the hops and carbonation keep it from becoming a "warmer". Somewhere between drinkable and a sipper, but it is a good feel.
Overall, this isn't an amazing porter, but it is tasty and if you find yourself craving a dark beer in the neighborhood this is certainly a contender. I want slightly more depth from the malt and a bit less bitterness, but in its current form less hops may be detrimental. Certainly not a stout however, it's too sweet to be considered one without lactose.

On-tap at Euclid Hall Bar & Kitchen, Denver, CO
A: The beer is black when viewed from afar and has traces of red near the edge of the glass when it is held up to the light. It poured with a short off white head that never completely faded away.
S: Light to moderate aromas of cola are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of cola along with notes of dark malts.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found this porter to be rather tasty and very easy to drink.

This is a pretty decent porter, though nothing about it jumps off the page at you. Good balance, reasonable ABV, not too heavy, but nice and dark. This was my first beer from this brewery and I'd try others as well when I find them.
