L: Pours a cloudy orange dark orange color with a small white head and no lacing on the glass.

S: A huge bouquet of spices great the nose including clove, allspice, followed by notes of apple cinnamon and dried fruit. The spices are maybe a touch stronger in the nose than I'd prefer.

T: Once again the spices are forefront, very reminiscent of pumpkin pie spices but not quite followed by a bit of candied sugar, and Belgian yeast but I find the spices a touch astringent.

F: Prickly carb, medium to large body.

O: A decent beer but I think the spice could be balanced with the rest of the beer a bit better.

From Beer Drop. No dating on the can.

Pours a clear amber red with a small and receding head of foam. It does persist throughout the session.

I get aromas of various spices, cloves, yes curry as I eat curry often. Figs, and something pungent.

Taste wise, I get curry, though it is not that sweet, cloves, figs and some roasted malt.

Decent mouthfeel, a different kettle of fish here that I enjoyed.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, dark amber color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It smelled of spices, figs and roasted malt. Lots of spices with figs, dark dried fruits and malty notes.

This is a really fascinating and different brew. Picked up a 4-pack of cans for $9, having hopes it would be tasty. My hopes were well-founded.

L: Nice can art, unassuming pour. The head is a pale tan, like unbleached wheat dough. The body is a translucent peach amber color. A little hazy, but with a very fine sediment.

S: Rich aromas of fresh toasted wheat and oat bread laced with warming dessert spices of nutmeg, clove, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger and turmeric. The fruity notes are most pronounced on the finish, which comes off as a spiced fig jam on fresh bread.

T: The sweetness is beautifully restrained on this one. My greatest worry was completely unfounded. Tastes nice and bready, with a light fig jam presence. The spices keep it interesting. I love it!

F: Nice and smooth. Not too rich, not too light.

O: A fantastic brew, quite unlike anything I've ever tried before. The most similar style I've had would have to be a Belgian Dubbel, particularly Maudite by Unibroque. Cheers!
