The second installment in our standard series pays homage to our Sunnyside neighborhood and the street where our brewery lives. An American pale ale in style, the light floral/piney aromatics and biscuity, caramel aromas mimic the full bodied flavor which finishes with a tangy bitterness.

this was the least compelling beer i had at diebolt. its the most in line with other pales, but i think comes up short on the hop front, leaving a slightly sweet overly malty base beer that doesnt have the english ale yeast character than makes those proportions work. i thought the double pale was really exceptional, so i expected more here, i probably should have had them in the reverse order, but i think an attempt to be delicate here resulted in a slightly under flavored beer, especially compared to some of the others they make. im wishing for a little more body too to go with the sweetness here, but the carbonation is really high and helps keep in drinkable for me. it seems a bit more like a session ale than an american ipa, not as sturdy as it could be, but its unique in its lightness for the style. definitely go for the double though, it has a great floral bright hops character that was so faint in here as to be frustrating. still i had no problem drinking a couple of these.

This is the first beer from Diebolt, and it starts them off on the right foot.
While not a world class, uber awesome beer, it is very drinkable and hits the spot. Matches the APA style quite well.
Soft golden/amber-ish color with nice white head. Looks delish.
Aroma of light biscuit and hints of caramel play nicely with American hops. Easy going citrus and pine, some tropical zest.
Taste follows the nose. It's well balanced with a push towards the hops. Easy drinking, slight bitterness on the end. Could be more pronounced on the hops side, but that would probably affect the drinkability. Good start from Diebolt
