This is a good-looking brew, fresh from the grolwer. The head and its retention speak well for its ability to stand up to a little time (and travel). It's creamy and very light tan, sitting at right about one finger. Beneath it is a deep, clear, bronze-hued brew, as much like a bitter in appearance as any I've seen. Lacing is left in steady patching, and there's a good amount of it.
This one really fits the bill in every way. It's mild without sacrificing aroma or flavor. It's moderately hopped with American hops, mostly floral and very slightly piney but with a sort of earthiness. It's got strong notes of toast and a touch of caramel with a hint of herbal notes and nuttiness.
The body is at just the right level, about medium but fairly light for it, with a firmly crisp feel and a nice smoothness, staying lively and flowing well through the session.
This is a beer well brewed by a brand-new brewery in a state that could use more.
