Presented itself with a crisp amber color. Not much of an aroma to speak of, but I could detect hints of herbs and earth. I must agree with previous reviews, this is like a bitter IPA, but less of an aftertaste. Not a bad brew, but again, like most of what Bonfire brews, it's nothing special. Still, it's worth a try.

Slightly hazy dark caramel with absolutely no head, retention or lacing. Mild carbonation. Aroma is slightly sweet with malts, caramel, vanilla and butterscotch. Mouthfeel is astringent in finish with a medium body. Taste begins with a labile sweetness mixed with an herbal hop astringency. Ruddy in the finish which is chemical and acrid. Begins nice enough, but ends in a grisly horrible finish(with a hint of Bullion and Willamette). Lightly grainy.

I'd love to tell you what the head looks like on this beer, but I can't. It's invisible -- as in non-existant. Aside from that, it's a fine looking beer, a clear amber in color. There's a very subtle nose to it, and I couldn't really place it at first, but I think it's got subtle aromas of walnuts and cinnamon -- almost the scent of a forest in a lot of ways. Piney. Taste is a very IPA-style bitterness, a grapefruity flavor with a crisp finish. A great mealtime beer.
