Piccolo Birrificio Clandestino “Riappala 2.0”
33 cl brown glass bottle coded “da consumarsi preferibilimente entro: 31/08/20 Lotto no. 151/19”
Notes via stream of consciousness: I’m guessing this is an updated version and not a new beer but I could be wrong. It’s poured a hazy deep amber colored body beneath a finger thick head of white. The aroma is quite hoppy and fruity with notes of grapefruit, mango, apple, and pine. The flavor follows with a very biscuity malt base that supports the hops nicely. Unfortunately they’re not as strong as the aroma might suggest but that’s quite common with IPAs. A solid bitterness anchors it and it finishes dry with the fruit passing fairly quickly and some pine, earth, and bitterness lingering well beyond that. Looking back, the head has consistently held a solid surface covering and there’s some very nice rings of lace mixed in between tattered sheets. It’s medium in body, perhaps leaning towards medium full, and crisp with a standard carbonation level. In the end it’s one of the better Italian made American IPAs that I’ve encountered.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
