(Updated from my previous bad keg sour beer experience and score of 3.5.)
On draught.
A decent head with poor retention, and little lacing. Dark mahogany with ruby hues.
Malty, caramel, hints of fruit, apple, faint earthiness in the background, off dry finish.
A refreshing Irish Red!

Pours a dark red in color, cream colored head that doesn’t last long. Fragrance of malt. Taste is a balanced caramel and malt flavor. Very enjoyable.

Medium ivory head. Very dark caramel, with chestnut and auburn highlights, for the look. Light amount of medium dark toasted malt, wood and caramel, for the aroma. A fairly firm, woody bite upfront, then firm, medium dark toasted barley malt, and a whiff of caramel, for the taste.

1605 Red has a thick, creamy head, and a semi-clear, bubbly rust red appearance, with thin lacing. The aromas are of sweet, earthy red malt. The flavor is similar, with moderate bitterness. 1605 Red has a medium body and a dry finish.

Purchased during travels to WV. Lovely ruby red color with a minimal head that traces nicely down the glass. Head and lacing don't last long. Sweet malty taste up front. Well balanced with the hops. Not overly sweet, but the malt lingers on the tongue.

Clear, dark red appearance with a large off white head and good lacing. Subtle aroma of caramel malt and ripe fruit. Toasted malt taste, slightly sweet, smooth, a bit dry. Floral hops take root in the aftertaste. Medium bodied, moderately carbonated mouthfeel. Sweet, lingering finish.

12 ounce can poured into a tumbler.
Murky red with suspended sediment, small head leaving a bit of lace, sweet aroma of caramel, tasting medium sweet with less caramel than expected, medium weight, smooth and soft, slightly crisp. Not bad.

I picked this up on a whim in Rockville at some random beer and wine place I came across. Dark copper with sweet malt predominating in the nose. A bit yeasty with a sour note. Balanced and with a touch of hop bite, rare for the style. Not a special red but a drinkable and interesting relatively local brew.

I got a late start on NBS (Week 774) & I did not finish up my DelMarVa (+ DC) adventure as planned. 8=( Further, I promised that NBS (Week 775) & now, Week 776, would be dedicated to the wonderful beers sent to me by @jkblr who seems to have a real handle on my drinking habits. CANsparency is key in these things! As a result, I am going to CANcentrate over the next few days on eradicating everything that would have CANbined to form the finale of the DelMarVa (+ DC) adventure. Sit down, strap in & hang on. It's gonna be a wild ride!
From the CAN: "Irish Style Ale"; "IAFF Local 1605 Hagerstown"; "Local 1605 asked us if we'd craft them a unique beer for their annual Bonanza Extravaganza - which raises money to support important local causes."; "We are craft beer. We et, drink & love local. So we brewed their special ale & still do. Now you're a part of something wonderful, too."; "Irish Style Red Ale brewed with British malts and hops. Perfectly balanced and smooth, with subtle notes of caramel and a creamy. robust body."
I am feeling better after a couple of hoppy beers & some nice pork & sauerkraut so the Crack! of the vent was less frantic than on the last one. I utilized an extremely slow, gentle C-Line Glug to raise just over a finger of dense, foamy, rocky, deep-tan/light-brown head with very good retention, slowly falling to wisps. Color was a gorgeous Coppery-Brown (SRM = > 17, < 22) with NE-quality clarity. Nose definitely smelled of caramel malt. This was a bit of a throwback to the early days of AmeriCAN craft brewing when an Amber/Red Ale was a staple on everyone's menu. The modern trend is towards more hoppiness, but this was well within spec for the style. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste remained caramel-sweet, but I also got a pleasant hoppy bitterness that helped to keep the sweetness in check. Finish was semi-sweet, probably as sweet as I really care for. YMMV.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours deep red with a small off white head. Smells of dark grain with some notes of raisins and grapes. Tastes of crisp dark grain with slight caramel and a clean crisp finish. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, an above average beer.

Poures a reddish deep amber color with little head. The smell is a weak caramel and malt. Taste is as the smell, a light caramel taste , with good balance between hops and malt. Refreshing feel and very drinkable. Overall a good red beer.
