Pours a clear yellow golden, with foamy white head. Subdued aroma of wheat and mild clove. Similar taste, on the sweeter side. Thin to medium bodied.

Cloudy gold appearance with a large, but quickly fading, white head and little lacing. Aroma did not fit neatly in the typical hefe profile. Wheaty, yes, along with yeast. But from there it was more herbal and floral. Taste is more rounded, still plenty of wheat, some sweetness, a touch spicy and herbal. Grainy, medium-to-light bodied mouthfeel.

This is a well made hefeweizen, but ultimately falls short of outstanding, and you can almost taste with every swallow that the brewers were pretty must just playing it safe. The professed hints of clove and bananas were muddled together so that neither was distinct.

I got a late start on NBS (Week 774) & I did not finish up my DelMarVa (+ DC) adventure as planned. 8=( Further, I promised that NBS (Week 775) & now, Week 776, would be dedicated to the wonderful beers sent to me by @jkblr who seems to have a real handle on my drinking habits. CANsparency is key in these things! As a result, I am going to CANcentrate over the next few days on eradicating everything that would have CANbined to form the finale of the DelMarVa (+ DC) adventure. Sit down, strap in & hang on. It's gonna be a wild ride!
From the CAN: "Hefeweizen Wheat Beer"; "Proudly Brewed in Maryland"; "Hagerstown, MD Wesel, Germany"; "Sister cities bonded in 1952 by Operation Democracy, a supplement to Truman's Marshall Plan, with the goal of assisting European cities ruined by WWII."; "HagerWeiss is our virtual hug of our beloved sis, Wesel."; "Unfiltered & unfettered, this refreshing & complex wheat ale is brewed with 100% German ingredients which grace the palate with subtle hints of clove & bananas."
I did a good bit of in-CAN agitation before CANducting the Crack! of the vent. I CANtinued with a heavy-handed inverted C-Line Glug for the first time in a while. The idea was to get as much flocculate back into suspension as possible. If nothing else, my efforts succeeded in raising two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with decent retention. Color was a deeply-hazy/lightly-cloudy Straw-Yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4). Hmm. Nose held all of the usual suspects of banana, pink bubble gum & just a hint of clove. 8=( I would have preferred the clove at the upper end of the spectrum. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, not exactly watery, but lacking presence. The taste was mostly bananas & pink bubble gum, which is stylistically fine, but not my bag. Finish was semi-dry & it was post-swallow that I really beCAN to get the clove esters. 8=( It was okay, but it really was not my bag. YMMV.

Light head, slight lacing.. yellow cloudy color. Almost tastes like a Miller combined with vodka... malt taste. Others taste banana and citrus but I dont. I did smell banana.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a bright yellow color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of wheat, some bananas. Taste is wheat, banana, light cloves, green apples. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer, but not a great example of the style.
