Look (3): This will be the only area I knock this beer. It's dark, murky and has a thick white head that seems to linger even after warming up. Also very sticky.

Smell (4): Pine forest aromas, malty sweetness, boozey notes and coconut water sugary aromas. Very pleasant and uniquely complex smells.

Taste (4.25): Pretty fantastic. Malt caramel and concentrated coconut flavors in the beginning. This is followed up by a big bitterness that's kept in check by the malt characteristic of this brew. Again, pretty complex and there's a lot to it.

Mouthfeel (3.75): Smooth and creamy like for an IPA. It's medium plus to full bodied. Very dry.

Overall (4.25): Solid brew that's on of the best and most well balanced triple ipa's I've had in a long time. Very yummy.

2016 vintage. 13% ABV per the label.

Pours a murky dark orange-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of citrus zest, grapefruit juice, spruce tip, juniper, dirt, and earthy hop aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest, grapefruit juice, spruce tip, and earthy hop flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and dry mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with noticeable spruce tip and juniper qualities, but I am not getting any coconut palm sugar presence.

Serving type: bottle.

22oz bomber, can't find a bottle on date. This is described as a Triple IPA Brewer with spruce tips, coconut palm sugar and juniper berries. Abv is 13% according to bottle.

Pours a dark Amber, almost barley wine coloring. Smells of a delicious pine forest, biscuits, evergreens trees, slight sweetness. Taste is heavy on malt providing caramel, dark cracker, table sugar that hits up front followed by resinous, piney hops, spruce, mint and rosemary. Quite a complex mix. The mouthfeel is soft and not overbearing but also not too thin. The palm sugar provides for a dry finish and the beer not being too syrupy. This is a winner although I would more label as a hoppy barley wine than a triple IPA. Lot of hops but the malt is more pronounced.
