Poured from a bomber into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Nearly clear purple mahogany pour. A thin fizzy pinky/white head falls fast. Surprisingly good lacing. Looks kind of like concord grape juice.
S: Chardonnay and grape juice... fruity... acidic/vinegar. Oak and mild funk.
T/F: This one is VERY dry. Tart with a moderate pucker, but not unpleasant. A little more vinegary than I would have liked. Strong grape must and chardonnay notes. Dry fruit... currant/raisin (the description helped on that one). It's almost like there's some fruity sweetness that wants to come out but just isn't present. Sticky on the tongue... the finish is dry white wine with some fruity notes.
O: An interesting beer. Not sure if this hit exactly what they were going for, but the flavor isn't bad. Super dry... could use a little more residual sweetness and it's pushing the vinegar envelope a bit far but the flavors are there. Cool beer.
