Poured from a bomber (purchased at the brewery) into a Duvel tulip
L: Nearly clear copper pour. 2 fingers of foamy white head leave great sticky lacing. Great looking brew. Cool artwork on the bottle as well.
S: Malty... caramel and sweets. Tropical fruits and candy.
T/F: Rich caramel malts... way more than expected for the style. Caramel mixed with sweet fruits. Bitterness very muted... likely present, but I found the sweet dominated. Some resin... light evergreen, but more tropical fruit and candy. Medium bodied... oily/sticky on the tongue. Bittersweet finish.
O: A rich malty DIPA. Hides the booze... sweet for the style but not at all unpleasant. Almost drinks like a hoppy barleywine. Enjoyed the beer... but not the West Coast DIPA advertised.
