Blind-tasted except for the beer's name alone.... tho being styled 'white person' is no pointer right now!
L- One of those beers that despite a rested and chilled bottle and a clean/trusted glass takes forever to pour (in steps) as it creates soooo much foam. Finally poured it is a murky (unsurprising as I had to rest the bottle half-way to let foam subside) dark amber with a still billowingly chunky fat pale tan head.
S- At first I get a mild note of aromatic timber, then perhaps a hint of spice. It seems quite subtle.
T+F- It's quite 'full-on', a pungent taste and yet with bright power-hopping from mid-way and through the finish. Hard to separate T+F here so I've combined them. It comes over as a higher ABV% beer yet I get no trace of naked alcohol, burn, zing or similar. Interesting it's not as rich as a Dubbel/Tripel/etc beer, I'm guessing this is a higher-ABV% Belgian (or Dutch) strong Pale Ale, or similar. There's more going on (I suspect), I fleetingly sense the perfume of honey, then another time flowers, though so briefly who knows...
O- Something a bit different. Despite it's inauspicious name it's a well made beer though overall perhaps a bit hoppier than I need. Perhaps it's like you've taken a Belgian Tripel then hipsterised it with OTT bright hops.
Review2020/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the bottle lables to see what I missed! >Unfiltered/unpasteurised. 'Thai style Belgian tripel'. Contains: Galanga (presumably galangal, a subtler Asian ginger) and pepper. In retrospect I'm glad I blind-taste new beers, as once you know this contains ginger then you can't not focus on it.
330ml bottle BB: 3 years after Bottled on: 01/04/2019. £4.99 - ouch! Bought from The Grog Shop, Jericho, Oxford.
