A beer that's likely to get a sympathy vote: classy butterfly on the label and a collaboration of two microbreweries (a "brewmance") from northern Flanders. Unfortunately though, things go downhill once you open the bottle. The colour is a bit off for a bock (too light brown) and the head starts promising but sinks quite fast. A weak smell of yeast and some hop. The taste tends to show itself only after the swallowing: a pleasantly bitter hop aftertaste. There's nothing before that though: the body is very light and there is quite some carbonation, which might cover the flavours. Besides the aforementioned hops, other bock characteristics seem to be missing: no caramel sweetness, no malty profile, no sticky mouth feel, no hints of roast or liquorice. I would have loved to give a beer like this 4+ stars, but it's just not good. Brewers seem to have gone wrong with the ingredients: apparently, sugar has been used to reach an abv suitable for a bock. Using more malt instead might do this brew some good.
