Oostende 19/7 2023. 33 cl chubby bottle from Spar, Langestraat, Oostende. Brown label with what looks like a yellow, metal container of moonshine.
Pours opaque hazy yellow with clumps of yeast whirling around. Mid-sized white head. Stable and fluffy. Settles as 1,5 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with a yeasty scent. Citric notes. Sweet pale malts and alcohol. Musty cellar. Whiff of lemon.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a rather strong, boozy sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and a little rough. Lingers for a while. Finish is rather dry.
Potent if somehow rough.
