Presentation: 500 milliliter bottle poured into a pint glass.
Look: bright golden color. Frothy 2 finger head. Moderate amount of lacing.
Smell: grassy, grains, malt, bread sweet honey, and hops.
Taste: similar to the smell of, grassy, grains, malt, bread sweet honey, sweet honey, a bit of pepper and herbs. Crisp hops taste. Slightly bitter aftertaste.
Feel: medium body. Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth. Moderate carbonation.
Overall: it’s a good Czech Pilsner but not a great one. Worth trying if you like this style of beer but not a must have.

Staropilsen "Zlatá Praha"
500 ml green glass bottle coded "D01 # L/PS"
$3.99 @ Total Wine & More, Claymont, DE
Notes via stream of consciousness: So here we have "golden Prague" at 4.7% ABV. It's unfortunately skunked but I was kind of expecting that. The body is a deep golden in color with 'fingerprint through the glass' clarity. A rough pour will bring up an inch of more of white foam that holds fairly well but perhaps not as well as it should. What do I have left in the aroma once the skunkiness fades? It's grainy and malty, but not particularly bright, and there are some spicy hops to it but not nearly as much as I'd like. On to the taste then, it's sweetly malty and grainy, and softly grassy and spicy. A firm bitterness balances it and it finishes dry with a dollop of malt and bitterness lingering. It's pretty decent but it doesn't stand out as a classic Czech lager. In the mouth it's medium bodied on the fuller end, and crisp with a fine-bubbled, seemingly natural carbonation. The lacing left behind on the glass is adequate but not great, and I'll say that of the head retention as well. Coupled with soft hops in the aroma that's not that great but it's the skunkiness that kills it.

500ml bottle into a tall glass. Appears to have been bottled in May 2023, so over a year old.
Nice looking beer. Clear golden yellow body, decent bright white head, swarming carbonation. The aroma is a bit off, grainy and harsh. On tasting, it seems a bit flat, odd given the carbonation. Smooth, a little sweet, not unpleasant, however there is a late brief dry bitter note.
Overall, all over the place ratings-wise. Age is likely the culprit here

Big suds, three fingers width, sticky lacing. Aroma of herbs and well water, minerally with a faint wet malted barley note.
Taste is mild, some dry bitterness adds structure and contrast to the crackery pale malt base. Really drinkable, no off flavors. Mellow and supple feel, nice residual bitterness.
Just a subtle, well made beer, no one is reinventing the wheel here. Brewed by Pivovar Samson, same brewery bottlecap.

American's don't understand beer. The ratings for this one are so bad. Zlata Praha is a solid Czech Pilsner import. Grassy and a bit of pepper in this one. Nice golden color with thin white head as a pilsner should be. Cracker, white bread flavors with grass and black pepper notes. This is not far behind Pilsner Urquell or Czech Rebel. Definitely a crushable, enjoyable brew.

Kind of cheap, seems to be brewed by Staropramen, not sure why this is different.
Looks ok, but the aroma is really horrible, I don't want to drink it.
Tastes so bad I cannot drink it, sorry...I think they spilled some molten metal in it or something.

4,7% abv version.
Golden color with a thick one finger head with medium retention.
Aroma with notes of malt sweetness, floral hops (a bit oxidized as general arrives Czech Pilsners) and faint bread crust.
Flavor with notes of malts sweetness, honey, minerals and noble hops. Dry and bitter aftertaste.
Light body with appropriate carbonation.
Bohemian Pilsner with traditional notes and an aftertaste with the expected noble hops.
