On tap at Ironwood Brewing. The server said it was a pale ale aged in a Heaven Hill barrel.
Look- A reddish brown whiskey color with minimal carbonation.
Smell- Sweet toffee, butterscotch, vanilla, and whiskey.
Taste- Toffee, mild butterscotch, and whiskey. Tastes like a Werther's candy soaked in Whiskey. A mild bite of alcohol in the end.
Feel- Very thin and whiskey-like with little carbonation.
Overall- I'm a fan of this beer. I would never have pegged it as a barrel aged pale. It screams barleywine all the way. Pretty easy drinking despite the high abv. It's one I would definitely drink again.
